Beware of Tabnapping - Kidnapping your browser's tabs

Everyday New Security Attacks are finding by the experts. These attacks creating risk for common users, who are losing their confidential information and money unknowingly in web. And these attacks are creating new challenges for security software vendors.

Kidnapping your browser tabs is Tabnapping

Tabnapping is the new word using in today's internet world. Simply speaking it is the hacking of one of the opened confidential tabs of the browser. Let us assume the user is working with more than one tab in browser. One of the opened tabs suddenly gets sign out. Then Duplicate website which looks like same page which was signed out will be placed in that tab. Then user unknowingly enters his confidential information like banks, mails, or pay pal user id and password. Then hacker who is waiting for this information will misuse the confidential and secret information. Placing same looking webpage in place of original website is known as phishing.


This is will happens because of the Tracking Malwares which contains at pornography and pirated software links. Whenever user clicks on these type of links dangerous Malwares will be copied in to the user system.

Who found Tabnapping.

Aza Raskin, creative lead for Firefox, had found Tabnapping. He said in his blog that "Every time you include a third-party script on your page, or a Flash widget, you leave yourself wide open for an evil doer to use your site as a staging ground for this kind of attack" . So, it is advised to not to go at illegal, pornography and pirated software links, where the hackers place their malicious code to hack the visitors computers.
